First stall in the Bordeaux covered market. Robert Labeyrie launched in 1946 a small business in Bordeaux in order to sell the products from the region of “Landes” (Foie Gras, salmon from the river Adour, poultry and game). Then in 1963 he created his first smoked salmon production unit in St Geours de Maremne, situated between Dax and Biarritz and finally, in 1971 he created his first canning industry.

Buy-out of LABEYRIE by the company LA HENIN, a SUEZ INDUSTRIE subsidiary : this step goes with Labeyrie development.

annee 1989

Labeyrie undertakes to indicate the fishing and smoking dates on its smoked salmons : thanks to this high positioning, Labeyrie becomes the benchmark on the smoked salmon market. Then, Labeyrie knows few years of industrial development with the creation, in 1990, of a new smoked salmon production unit and in 1992, of a new foie gras production unit in St Geours de Maremne.

annee 1994

Launch of the certification “IGP Sud-Ouest” (South-West of France) : Real supporter of the Foie Gras industry from South-West of France, Labeyrie is a main actor in the implementation of the “IGP Sud-Ouest” label for its ducks supply.

annee 1999

After its introduction on the second market of Paris stock exchange, Labeyrie experiences a booming period relying mainly on an active external growth policy. Labeyrie buys Vensy company in Spain in 2000 and Farne of Scotland company in order to become the first European smoker. Then, to become diversified in blinis, taramasalata and spreadables, Labeyrie group buys BLINI company, leader on these markets in 2003.

Takeover by INDUSTRI KAPITAL

annee 2004

Buy-out of Labeyrie Group by the Icelandic SIF group named today ALFESCA, in order to become a European leader on festive gastronomic products (sea products and foie gras) with strong brands and commercial positions.
